Chester is a ghost rat that only appears in solo matches. He descends from the sky to where the opponent should be, and when the song ends or the player dies, he flies back into the sky.
He uses the same Noteskin as the player. He hits every note in the match perfectly2. You can't see his score, accuracy, but only his notes.
Trivia
- Chester has wins, and in version 0.6, he was in the global leaderboard for wins.
- You can't get Chester a win. It only happens if Niiko plays against herself in second Roblox Studio client.
- As the very first iteration of this page said, "Chester likes cheez".
- If Chester is present on the song "Bloodlust", he'll have Funky Kenny's hat instead of his beanie. This is because he canonically hadn't found the beanie yet.
- Beta Chester (currently obtainable in the 2nd Anniversary event) also has Kenny's hat.
- If you connect a controller (Xbox, PS, Nintendo, etc.) to your PC, this will enable Local Multiplayer mode and a second player can play as Chester.
- Niiko said that Chester died because "he spit bars so hard that he burnt to death".
- As of the recent update for RAT!'s 2nd Anniversary, you can now give certain cosmetics to Chester. (Mostly beta designs of characters at the moment)
- Chester is likely pansexual, as during the Pride Month event in 2024, the 25k notes hit reward was a Pan Pride Chester icon.

Except for if he's on the left side of the song Amusia, in which case he'll miss every note in the match. However, his animations still play as normal. This is a reference to how DISABLED misses all of their notes in the original Hypno's Lullaby mod, as DISABLED canonically can't sing. "DISABLED tried using Sing. Sing was Disabled."
